I have two sisters. Kristen, my oldest sister and Nia my little sister. Which leaves me where? Some where, where I don’t get everything Kristen got and some where, where Nia gets whatever she wants; aka land of middle child syndrome. Incase you do not know what middle child syndrome is, here is a link….

Informed? GREAT! Now let’s get to it!
Here are the top 2 MCS events that took place in my life that I am still trying to get over…bare with me, it might get lengthy due to my salt…
- Sister Pictures
I never knew how “important” name brand clothes were until about 7th grade. My family had just moved to a new area which meant, new school, new peers and apparently bye bye uniform and hello BabyPhat and EchoRed. This was the first school I attended that did not require students to wear uniform. I knew nothing about name brand but it was like every corner I turned there was somebody’s clothing line name stamp across the butt! ANYWAY..I eventually got into the name brand fad with all my peers
Long story short: One day my mom came home with a bunch of shopping bags! She would always get us a shirt or something, but this time was different! She got us WHOLE OUTFITS!! I was soooo happy. As she held the clear, plastic garment bag up my eyes lit up! Inside was a tan, velour, Rocawear sweat suit! I thought to myself, YES! I can not wait to wear mine to school! Mommy then told us that the outfits were for picture…not to salty(yet) I figured I could wait until then. She took the plastic off and handed the Rocawear sweatsuit to Kristen, me still patiently waiting, she handed Nia hers, it was the same velour and color but did not have any name brand on it, I assumed it was because she was young and could careless about a name brand. It was my turn!
I took a deep breath – anxiously day dreaming about my Rocawear sweat suit I was about to receive from my “cool mom.” Thinking about how fly I was going to be at school on Monday….
ONLY TO FIND OUT I DID NOT HAVE A ROCAWEAR SWEATSUIT! …..MOM!?WHAT WERE YOU THINKING?? How dare she not get me the same Rocawear sweatsuit as Kristen!??? I was so mad….(slightly still salty)
If you ask me, mommy still owes me. and according to Kristen, this story is all wrong but I know the truth!!!
2. Kristen’s 18th Birthday/Graduation Present/Golden Birthday
Kristen’s birthday is on May 18th, it happened to land on the same weekend as her high school graduation. Exciting right? right…
That day I got home from school my daddy told me to come up to his room. He told me that he had gotten Kristen a car for her birthday/graduation present! I was so happy ! It was a red, 1998 Mercury Cougar. Red was her favorite color so I knew she would be ecstatic! My daddy decked it all out with a Betty Boop steering wheel cover and Betty Boop floor mats. Kristen LOVED Betty Boop! On top of the car was a gorgeous, big red bow! It sat so shiny and cute in our driveway that I literally could not wait to show her!!
My daddy gave me the honors of telling Kristen to look out the window and on to the driveway to see her car! Kristen screamed in excitement and ran outside. She loved it.
At that moment, I knew what type of parents I had, the kind who surprise there kids with cars like on the old MTV show “my sweet 16.” I knew that my moment was coming, I just had to wait two more years!
faaaaaassstt foward to my high school graduation in 2009…..
Wheres my car? oh.
-TBC-
(I will have to save my car struggle for another blog entry)
I still have MCS salt every once in a while…but I am working on it 😉
